Craft Beer Series: Eight Foot Brewing

We decided to have a responsible adult Saturday morning where we got work accomplished around the house. It was exactly as much fun as it sounded! Which is no fun! After all that adulting, I was in desperate need of relaxation and fun. But where can one find that close to home? I’ll tell you where! At Eight Foot Brewing!

I had never been here before but had found them on Instagram and I was done being teased by the mouth-watering posts of their food and their creative beer flavors! They also had me when I saw that for Halloween they were doing a beer flight paired with candy! I had to experience Eight Foot Brewing for myself.

So we headed over to Cape Coral. It was simple to find as it was right off a main road. Upon walking it, we were thrilled to see art work on the walls, couches along with the standard tables and a super friendly employee! There was an area set up with a game console and games to play while hanging out. There was also about a dozen board games to choose from. And what put the biggest smile on my face was that there were cornhole boards to take outside! Hey, I may never leave this place! It was obvious that they wanted their customers to relax and stay a while. Which is a great vibe for a brewery to have.

But listen, as much as I enjoy trying a new craft beer, I was starving! Actually we all were. In addition to Nelson and I, our daughter and her friend came along with us. I have to say that on a Saturday afternoon, this brewery was completely teenager friendly. Onto ordering some grub. I have yet to meet a charcuterie board that hasn’t called my name and today was no different. We began with that as well as an order of pretzels and beer cheese. This charcuterie board was beyond amazing! The cheeses alone were worthy of praise! The assortment was quite impressive and we all dug right in! I had a hard time picking a favorite cheese but the fig jam was a definite star!

Like I said, we were starving… remember there was lots of adulting that morning. And that sure does work up one’s appetite! The teenagers order grilled cheese sandwiches that came with chips and grapes. Eight Foot Brewing has a children’s menu so if you have any picky eaters, do not fear! I ordered the Brat Flatbread. And this is where Eight Foot Brewing sets itself apart from other breweries. They have a full kitchen. This flatbread had a homemade pear jam, sliced brats, caramelized onions, arugula and a balsamic drizzle. It was so incredible! The combo of the sweet pear jam with the peppery arugula and brat slices was a perfect match!

My husband ordered the Fanciest Grilled Cheese EVER. No really, that’s what it’s called. And I believe it is accurately named as such! It had brie, swiss, apricots, fig jam and balsamic all layered between two pieces of toasty rye bread.

I know what you’re thinking. We went all the way to a craft brewery and didn’t have any beer! But that’s not true! I started with their Pumpkin Ale. There was an option of adding a rim job to the glass. So I went with it! And I was glad I did. As they rim the glass with caramel and cinnamon sugar. Holy Moly, was it scrumptious! In keeping with the pumpkin theme, I also had a glass of their Sour Pumpkin. It was my first time having a sour beer and I liked it. Nelson tried their Peach Ale. It was refreshing and easy to drink. We were pleased with our food and drink choices!

We took advantage of the overcast weather that afternoon and played cornhole outside. There was plenty of space to play. There were also tables and chairs outside with covering to escape the sun.

Overall, we all enjoyed Eight Foot Brewing and will definitely be back. The menu has me intrigued and there’s a lot more I want to try there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the entire place was clean. I highly recommend taking a look at their Instagram! They seem to have fun activities going on often.
