Rockabillaque, I Love You

We spent our Saturday at Rockabillaque! It took place at The Seminole Casino and Hotel in Immokalee. It’s a little over an hour drive from where we live. This was our first time attending it. But we had such an incredible time that I can’t wait to go back next year. I have to say that I was surprised that this was the chosen location for this one day festival. But I was even more surprised by the amount of people that turned out to not only participate in the event but that came just to enjoy it. This is a festival that takes place all around the U.S. But sometimes in Florida, we are not really “on top” of what’s happening as far as festivals go.

Rockabillaque had everything! First there seemed to be over 100 classic cars and motorcycles. There were small two-seaters, long Cadillacs, uniquely painted trucks and one of a kind motorcycles! It was a sight for the eyes! I’m sure it brought back many memories for the older attendees. And for younger ones like us, it just made us want to own our own classic car! These vehicles were true beauties of a time gone by! All of the owners were so sweet and happy to talk to us. It was a very welcoming environment.

There were many food trucks on site as well as beer trucks and a bar that was hosted by the casino. About a dozen vendors had set up shops as well. The music stage was impressive too. They had a long line up of bands that were continuously playing all day and all night. It was surreal to hear that music while eyeing these vintage cars! But the fun did not stop there! Contests were available to take part in such as a pin up contest, tattoo contest and even a beard contest!

We spent the afternoon there enjoying all the festival had to offer! We couldn’t have had more beautiful weather! One day instead of wandering around looking at the classics, we will be sitting next to our very own classic with a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon in one hand! One day!
